Valve has increased the price of Steam Deck by nearly 50% across all models. The price of the 512GB OLED version in the United States has now increased from $549 to $789, while the price of the 1TB OLED model has increased from $649 to $949.
The price increase is also visible internationally, with the 1TB model now costing $1,349 in Canada before sales tax.
Valve explains that the price increase is due to the increased cost of components and logistics challenges rather than any changes to the hardware.
“The Steam Deck itself has not changed; these new prices reflect the current state of component costs and other global logistics challenges across the industry,” the company said.

The recent increase in prices reflects broader industry trends affecting hardware costs. The prices of memory, SSD and GPU components have seen a sharp increase, mainly driven by the demand for AI infrastructure.
DRAM and NAND flash prices in particular have risen throughout 2026, with industry executives including a Team Group executive warning that prices are likely to continue rising.
This cost pressure has affected pricing in the PC hardware market and has recently increased in other areas.
Valve cited global logistics challenges as a factor, pointing to supply chain disruptions such as the closure of the Strait of Hormuz following the conflict between the United States and Iran. These disruptions have impacted component supplies across the industry, with no clear timeline for resolution.

US prices have been updated as follows: The Steam Deck 512GB OLED price has now increased from $549 to $789, and the 1TB OLED model is priced at $949, up from $649 previously.
